How can I get an estimated future values

I have a set of numbers in which I would like to get future value. Could I use the exponential function to do this.

Enclosed is my current values and I would like get the possible values for "test 12 - 20.

I have no idea on how to do this or even to create chart showing the possible new values.

Thanks ahead for any suggestion or solutions in doing this.

You’ll have to be a little more specific about what a future value is supposed to be.
Or rather, which values from which scientific area(s) are involved, and for which purpose.
Calculation models are common for wide-ranging practical applications and can differ quite substantially.
The determination, which calculation model with which function should be used for your case, you must already determine yourself.

I have no idea of what the future value is supposed to be (for it is going in the wrong direction). So if I need a “limit”, I would say 8 - 9 would be my limit.

The numbers you see are taken over an approximate two month time frame. Looking at the data shown, I am guessing about another 3-4 months would put me in my limit range.

Harald, thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it very much.

“Future Value” is a term somehow usurped by those believing in “financial mathematics”, and therefore there is a standard function FV() in spreadsheets. It actually uses a special exponential expression I never studiied in detail. However: If its preconditions are met, and you aren’t actually interested in values, but only in amounts of money, it will return usable reults.

As the question was worded, I wouldn’t assume it was meant this way. My answer below therefore takes “future values” as “extrapolation of a function over time to the future”.

If you are looking for something like a “saturation”, nobody (and no software) can help you based on the poor data.

Personal remark: I’m a retired (German) teacher - and therefore I would tend to answer the question with a kind of educational textbook. But I’m also old and disillusioned concerning the eagerness studying my texts on the side of questioners.

Therefore I made an example demonstrating everything basically relevant in the context - as far as a first tour around is intended - and leave it to you to draw your conclusions. Insight gained by onself going personally preferred ways is a very promising means of learning - if one actually does it.

Just one fundamental statement in words: You can’t predict anything reasonably without a reasonable assumption about what’s happening behind your numbers.

We once were told by wise men (f/m): “Forecasts are difficult - in specific if they pertain to the future.”
