trying to import Excel file to Calc either as CSV or otherwise
If you want to open the CSV file into calc you can do that directly by using:
File > Open
If you want to open the CSV file into an existing workbook (with the data going into a new sheet), you can do that by using:
Sheet > Insert Sheet from File
Better still, just open the Excel file in Calc. Cheers, Al

Or if you want to import it on any place, go to the place, and use Menu/Sheet/Link to external data.
