I was working on writer and after I cleared recently open list, I cannot find older documents that I forgotten the name. Is there any way to display all saved titles?
Hello,
yes there is a way, but sometimes not by using LibreOffice (LibreOffice is not a file manager and some file picker dialogs [the dialog when using File -> Open
] don’t show the search facility). The general way is to open the file manager of your operating system (which you didn’t mention), use Search and search for .odt
to find all Writer files stored on your disk (All file managers I’m aware of provide such Search facility).
If you are on Windows: Your default file manager is called File Explorer (aka Windows Explorer).
Hope that helps.
Each of your file “entries” of different type is stored in the registrymodifications.xcu (within your LibreOffice profile folder), even when erased in the GUI.
Copy the registrymodifications.xcu file and edit on Notepad++ or similar editor and search for PickList. You’ll find a bunch of entries. (The amount of entries can be manually altered.) If you are lucky you can find some of your Writer files, but probably not all as you have stated in your question…
