How to enter a hyperlink to a folder?

In Writer I can enter hyperlinks to many elements but I do not find a way to insert a hyperlink to a folder without a workaround.

Current workarounds:

1 - Open MS Outlook (the only MS software left on my PC), new task, create a hyperlink tp the target folder, copy hyperlink, paste special in Writer in html format without comments.
Drawbacks of the work around: MSOutlook depending and time consuming.

2 - Create a hyperlink to any document in the target folder, then edit the hyperlink and delete the target file.
Drawbacks: very time consuming and if one character to many gets deleted, the whole procedure needs to be done again.

I appreciate a hint on how to create a link to folder without above-mentioned workarounds.

Menu/Insert/Hyperlink
in document path field, put the path, that’s all, at least for me in Win7x64 LibreOffice 3.6.4

In the path field I only can select a file and from there I have to delete the file name to get the path to the folder. Could you please have a look at the attached picture?!

How can I make an image directly visible in a question or an answer? I appreciate a hint for this as well.

(1) Copy the path from Windows Explorer (Address field) — (2) Right-click on a file in the folder → Properties → copy the path of the folder …

Image: 1. Type an image description — 2. Highlight the description — 3. Click on the “image” icon. — See also → Meta: upload images

Thanks this is another possibility to get the path.

I will make a test concerning the image appearance. Please allow me to do this here.

Thanks this is another possibility to get the path.

Sorry a question concerning the image. Do I start with the paper clip icon or the little box icon at the top line of an answer? I have no information displayed about the functionalities of these icons and don’t want to mess around here.

@ manj_k Thanks for the explanation for the little box. I envy you because you get tool tips!

Thanks again. Highlighting the description was the key. Now you see the picture which I wanted to display above but only the link image description became visible.

Thanks a lot for the entire table!
