24.2.5.2 - The author name is removed, but it is replaced with “Author1”! There is a 24.2.7 out, I’ll have to install it and see if it does any better.
Version: 24.8.3.2 (x86) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 48a6bac9e7e268aeb4c3483fcf825c94556d9f92
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (10.0 build 26100); UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-CA (de_DE); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded
Ah, I see 24.8 is available from the LibreOffice website, but when I checked for upgrades within LO, it only mentioned 24.2.7. The original answer from EarnestAI said to “upgrade to 24.2 or newer” but I already had 24.2, and this option is not there, nor does the security option work properly. I’ll get the latest version from the website.
I just installed the latest version and this fix does not work…I still get the author info in bold at the top of every comment. If anyone knows how to get rid of these, pls share!
What is the latest version? From your distribution? LibreOffice? LibreOffice overnight build?
This one?
Or unticking Comment authorship? That applies only to Calc

Try the other one then.
My suggestion removes the name of the Author but it is replaced by Author1 and date of 1970-01-01 so it is useful for anonymising a spreadsheet. You do need to save the file before it takes effect and close and reopen the file before you see the effect.
The solution by PKG hides the Author line in the comments
