I know this has been discussed here before, but I haven’t been able to remove the redundant author & date from annotations in LibreOffice Calc 24.8.5.2:
I’ve spent hours on this and am more than a little bit frustrated - I have to admit I completely fail to see the logic behind the introduction of this feature, and the fact I have no control over it seems contrary to the aims of the Document Foundation. Even using a macro to try to clear the invalid data fails:
Hey, this is my bloody spreadsheet, who are you to tell me anything about it is “read-only”!? If I wanted the software I’m using to make arrogant assumptions about what I’m trying to do I’d still be running Windows!
…
And no, I’m not talking about “hiding” the data, I’m talking about not wanting it to be there at all. I will be sharing this spreadsheet with others eventually and I want it to be sleek and professional. Please?
Then trim it as you like.
Did you ever consider to contribute something to a community site?
At least you succeeded to waste a large area without usable/relevant information, and to cause a lot of unnessecary trafic. .

That’s what I’m trying to do. I know I’m not the only one who’s annoyed by this change, and there is a bug report which claims the options I have enabled should fix it from 24.8 onwards (hence the screenshots, to show what I’ve got, and what I’ve done, and what actually happens).
