I can't see Script Markers (green rectangles)

Hi, I’m having the exact same issue as in this post:

However, when I do the steps indicated in there to solve the problem, it doesn’t go away. I have also consulted this information page from the LibreOffice help manual: Insert Script, but I still can’t see the markers.

The steps I have tried over and over again are:
1.- Tools → Options → LibreOffice Writer/Web → View → Check “comments”
2.- Tools → Options → LibreOffice Writer ->View → Check “comments”

Currently I’ve got all checkboxes marked in the “View” tabs and still got nothing:

I’ve also tried reinstalling LibreOffice, it didn’t work either. My LibreOffice version is 25.8.2.2 (x64) and I’m using it in Windows.

Any idea? Thanks in advance

No, I see no mark for resolved comments…

Hi, I literally cannot get those checkboxes to stay marked. See the video:

Do you mean the script markers shown in the screenshot below?

Configuration

Version: 25.8.2.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: d401f2107ccab8f924a8e2df40f573aab7605b6f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 11 X86_64 (build 26200); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: en-US (fr_FR); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Exactly, those are the marks I’m missing. I can still insert and use scripts as shown in this other video, but I can’t know if they’re in a document I haven’t written.

This is my configuration:
Version: 25.8.2.2 (X86_64)
Build ID: d401f2107ccab8f924a8e2df40f573aab7605b6f
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10 X86_64 (build 19045); UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: es-ES (es_ES); UI: en-US
Calc: threaded

Looking at the screenshot you provided… perhaps inserting a comment will do?

See/download this recording (Google Drive).

Hi @cwolan, thank you very much, inserting a comment made the markers reappear!

As as side note, I have also noticed than now I am able to see the “Comments” checkbox just like in your video, but if I unmark it, it goes away again until I insert another comment.

Anyway, I can see the script markers again, so again, thank you very much!

Yes. It looks like a bug. AFAICT it worked fine in LibreOffice 7.6.7.2.

Another possible workaround: make a configuration change*

  1. ToolsOptionsLibreOfficeAdvancedOpen Expert Configuration
  2. type org.openoffice.Office.Writer/Content in the text area
  3. click in the Search button
  4. find the property “Note” and change its value to “true”
  5. Click the OK button
  6. Click the OK button
  7. reload file (may be necessary)
