Images on pages have disappeared on all my manuscripts leaving only frames on the where they previously appeared

I am using version 24.2.5.2

All of the images in my manuscripts have suddenly disappeared leaving only a border outline where they were and an image number where they were on the pages. What has caused this sudden change

Is there a way in the free writer tools I can bring the image back

Thanks for your help

footers but cannot delete it Is there a way to delete it using a toggle?

This may be because it is not a “character” but a picture or page background. In case of picture/image, it depends on the anchor mode though clicking on it should select it. If it is page background, open the page style configuration dialog and delete its background.

If you can’t find by yourself, attach a reduced copy of your document (I see it contains at least 101 pages; we don’t need that much.

This is easy to reproduce.
However, selecting via the Navigator (F5) always works.
