in Writer: Changing cell width

How do you change the length of a single cell in a table while leaving all others the same??

You can’t.

  • If you increase the height then all
cells on the same row will increase
in height. Click Table > Size > Row Height, in dialog that opens untick Auto size and enter value required

  • If you increase the width then all
cells in the same column will
increase in width. Click Table > Size > Row width, in dialog that opens change the width. Or drag column divider with mouse.

  • If you merge a cell with the one next
to it, the one next to it will not be
the same as it won’t be there. Select adjoining cells, click Table > Merge Cells

Cheers, Al

By pressing Ctrl + Shift and moving the cell border.
