Dear All—I think I’m losing the plot. I’m sure I’ve inserted cross-references to a footnote before, but can’t now work out how to do it.
When I try to do it, I get the dropdown menu below
I want the footnote number (not the chapter, page, etc.).

It seems that you need to select Referenced text. The dialog box has probably changed, and the Help file hasn’t been updated accordingly. Quite confusing.
In principle, you can treat the text in the footnote like any other text. Select the text and choose Insert > Cross Reference.
