LibreOffice Writer - Fillable Form fields don't allos accents & Co (Writer to PDF)

Hi there!

I’m creating a fillable form PDF from Open Office Writer. I insert fillable fields with the form tools and export it to PDF. When I want to fill in the texts in the PDF, it will let me only use basic characters, but none of the Portuguese accents I’d need to use (ç, ã, õ, etc.), and also not the basic Latin accents like é, è, ê etc… German tremas, however, work (öäü).

Here’s a screenshot of my export dialogue: (I’ve tried several options already which din’t fix the issue)

I’d be grateful for advice! Thank you!

I use LibreOffice Writer, naturally, and I don’t see the problem that you face. If I set my keyboard to INTL and type in a random selection of special characters using the shortcuts from here, they all enter without problem.
.

Can you enter the characters in the sample pdf? If you export from the sample .odt, can you enter the characters?
Sample ODT
TestPDFAccentedCharacters.odt (12.5 KB)
Exported pdf
TestPDFAccentedCharacters.pdf (19.0 KB)

Thank you for the docs! When I opened the PDF in browser, it let me fill in everything and in my PDF viewer (PDF gear) it happened the same way as I described above, lacking the characters. So I opened the PDF in Acrobat Reader and it worked! So the issue was only due to the software I used. Quick fix. Thank you!

Yah, the software I used caused the issue. It was PDF gear which I use because until now it did everything better than Adobe Reader, but here’s the first exception. Thank you!
