Open file dialog always goes to "Documents" directory instead of the current (working) one.

Hi all,

I looked around and found a similar question (with a solution) from 12 years ago, but I can’t find those settings in the current libreoffice anymore.
So: when I’m working on a file and want to open additional files, I’d like the open dialog to stay in the same directory of the working file and not go to the “Documents”. As I remember, it worked like that before -how can I make it behave like this, again?

It’s LO 24.8.4-1 with libreoffice-kde on Debian Trixie and KDE Plasma 6.2.5-1

LibreOffice suddenly won't open directory where doc files live

L.O. still opens specific document files, but when I click on File–>Open, it starts to open a window containing the relevant directory where my files are stored (a subdirectory of My Documents) and then hangs indefinitely until I finally have to close the program. It’s been working fine for years (with the files located in the same place), but today when I restarted my computer (running Windows 7), the problem suddenly appeared - even though I had made no changes that might explain this.
