Ordering function (button AZ-ZA) not working anymore

1412 29/07/2023

Hi,
when launching ordering function (pressing the button AZ-ZA) the file goes in “not answering” state and stays there indefinetly (need close and recover).
Obviously all changes done after last autosave are lost.

I annex the file.
Spese, Versamenti, Inventario6.ods (116.1 KB)

Please try, selecting all cells of column A and then press AZ-ZA button.

Anybody having a clue?

Thanks,
Mario

Works for me. In descending order: Text values on top, then - starting at row 81 - the dates.

Thanks Villeroy,
could you please try again making sure the square box “area contains column header” is uncheked (as in annexed screenshot).
No Column Header Option.odt (126.1 KB)

  • instead of selecting all the cells, please select all the rows from 1 to 42287.
If it still working for you, then definetly something is wrong from my side.
    Thanks,
    Mario

I click any single cell in column A and click the quick sort button [Z-A] or [A-Z].
The application detects the current region of non-empty cells around the selected cell and sorts this area by the active cell’s column.
Ascending order starts with numbers:
01.01.1934
11.04.1958
11.04.1959

Descending order starts with text values:
00/00/1986
00/00/1986
00/00/1986

Hello Villeroy, I’m not sure I understand when you say “click cells”.
I hope you mean “select cells range”.
Anyway the screen shot I’ve sent shows what I mean when sayng select all the rows (as you can see: - all the rows, from 1 to the are selected, despite only column A is filled -)
With mentioned box unchecked (if not unchecked the problem does not show) you must make sure you select all the rows (by selecting only the cells under column “A” the problem still does not show).
This time I paste the link of the automatic bug notice after the file restore I have to launch after every entering into the not responding status.

My level of understanding stops here.
Thanks anyway.
