Printing Booklet Problems

Hello, I am using a MacOS Sequoia 15.3.2 and LibreOffice 24.8.6.2 on an Epson ET-2865 Printer. I am a minister and use LibreOffice extensively for printing pew sheets. I used to click print>LibreOffice>Booklet, then Paper Handling>Odd sheets>Normal and then press Print. I would then put the sheets back in the print sheet feeder. Print>LibreOffice>Booklet, then Paper Handling>Even sheets>Normal, then press print. This no longer works. Any suggestions for printing booklets with 2 columns on An A4 page landscape mode? Thanks for your help

In what manner does it not work?
E.g.:

  • Odd sheets will not print
  • I can’t fit the sheets back into the sheet feeder
  • Even sheets will not print
  • Pages on alternating pages are upside down
  • Pages are not in the correct order
  • etc.

In other words: Tell us what you did, what happened, and how that differs from what you expected to happen.

If you can also attach a file sample of what you try to print, it may help us to envision your workflow.

Hello Kjell,

It will not create a booklet. Print menu>LibreOffice> Brochure button, number of copies>then Paper Handling, sheets to print> Odd pages, >sheet order Normal, the document is turned landscape, but the print is tiny, and it is not in two A5 columns on an A4 sheet.

Previously, I would do the above actions, and it would change an A4 sheet into two A5 columns on one page. I would print out the Odd pages (for as many orders of service as I might need). Once that was done, I would insert them in the sheetfeeder facing away from the front of the machine, then Brochure> number of copies>then Paper Handling, sheets to print> Even pages, >sheet order Normal. It would produce a booklet of how ever many pages I wanted (with the reality, that in booklet or brochure form it is always in multiples of 4, or you have empty pages at the end of the booklet.

Please find attached a PDF of what is now happening.

Best regards,

Tom

It sounds a bit like Bug 163126 - Brochure printing A5 pages to A4 paper doesn’t scale correctly

But that has been resolved for 24.8.5

What happens if you do the workaround of opening the print dialogue, setting the brochure, close the dialogue, then reopen the print dialogue and set brochure?
