Updated: Does anyone out there know how to troubleshoot the installation errors below? LibreOffice 6.0.4.2 (64 Bit) on Windows 10 Home 1803

The following are the error messages I keep getting when trying to install:

“Warning 1909. Could not create shortcut LibreOffice 6.0.lnk. Verify that the destination folder exists an that you can access it.”

I double-checked & it seems to be creating it.

“Internal Error 2902. ixoShortcutPropertyCreate”

So far, I’ve tried uninstalling & re-installing several times.

Thanks again for your time!

Hi there !

I tried the following successfully :

Press Shift when right clicking on the .msi file and choose the option : ‘Execute as user’.
Do not select the standard install, click next;
Next;
Select or not association for Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Visio Documents;
Next;
Do not create a link on your desktop;
Click Install

That should work correctly.

Well - not reading FAQ (where it’s mentioned that Windows Defender’s Controlled Folder Access interferes with installation, so it’s advised to disable it for the duration of installation) and working around the problem by disabling some installation options instead is, of course, also an option.

Interesting, but in our organisation Windows Defender is already disabled by a GPO for all users (including admins).

Is that Windows Defender or Controlled Folder Access? They are different beasts AFAIK (but I didn’t check GPO settings controlling that, actually).
