Used writer for pasting screenshots for note taking. Now when I open it, it says “read error” and all is gone!
I am using Windows 7 Professional, LibreOffice ver. 4.2.6.3. Saved to hard drive on my comp. Used PrintScreen key to take the screenshots. It is weird because there are pages of “read error” and then a pge of a screen shot wil be there and then more pages of “read error” follow. File is there, but “read error” appears where the screen shots were.
Hi @carolinamelbelle, with no information doesn’t seem easy that someone can help. Please could you detail: your Operating System, LIbreOffice version, where you save the file: hard disk, pen, etc.

I have done a test (Win7x64Ult-LibreOffice 4.2.7) and I can’t reproduce the issue. Please if you paste using Menu/Edit/Paste special, have you more options than Bitmap?
Is there a way to send you the file so you can see what I am talking about? Would that help?

@mariosv - I am experiencing the same/similar effect as well. However, I had no time yet to follow up and keep notes on which format of an image I pasted into Writer. My current feeling is that it happens sporadicly. Use now LibO 4.2.7.2 on XP and observed it most likely also in 4.2.6.

I tried that and it mentions that I need more than (3 Points?) I am not sure what that means?
