The release notes simply states that “Mac version doesn’t bundle the mediawiki extension”. Is this due to a bug, licensing, no maintainer, or something else?
It appears that in v4.1.x the Wiki Publisher extension under Mac OS X started causing problems for users of this platform that did not have Java installed (or a valid available install). It was removed from v4.1.3 on 2014-01-23. Related mailing list entry here and commit here.
