Writer outline Fold All and Unfold All documented but missing

I love outline folding! I want to use it a lot! in big documents!
But the Navigator/Fold All and Unfold All features as documented are missing. Windows 11, LOW 7.5.4.2

In Navigator right-click on a heading / Outline Folding shows only Toggle.
Right-click on the Headings hamburger / Outline Folding shows only [No selection possible] grayed out. (Please note I’m not talking about Expand All/Collapse All at the top of that menu, that affects the Navigator view whereas outline folding affects the document view.)

I don’t want to fold many headings knowing I’ll have to unfold them all one. at. a. time. Help?

Thanks,
Bathsheba

I think if there are no lower level headings (sub-headings to the selected heading) than the one you right-click, then you get only Toggle.
If there are lower level headings then you should get Toggle, Fold All & Unfold All.
If I right-click on Headings at the top I get Fold All or Unfold All. Unfold All here unfolds those separately folded as well.

But, I am testing with a pre-release version
Version: 7.5.5.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 2c5e46c1980ec5241359fd65d751dc518205e7af
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 22621; UI render: Skia/Vulkan; VCL: win
Locale: en-NZ (en_NZ); UI: en-GB
Calc: CL threaded

Thanks for checking. I don’t have Fold All or Unfold All options whether or not lower-level headings are present, and I never have any options in Headings/Outline Folding.

I wait in hope.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan/7.5

Works as documented in LO 7.5.3.2 under Fedora 38 (Linux) and KDE Plasma desktop (Qt widgets).

Awesome, I hope it will someday work in Windows
I don’t see anything related in the release plans
I filed a bug :person_shrugging:

It isn’t necessary to enable experimental features for 7.5. The help file for 7.5 (not latest) says it is there, Outline Content Visibility
This file works for me, two items are folded already.

Maybe test with a temporary profile, LibreOffice user profile - The Document Foundation Wiki

Are you in Windows?
I opened your file with a fresh profile, only change was turning on the outline buttons, and the folding options are still missing as I described above.

I pasted the results from Help> About LibreOffice in my first comment, it might be helpful if you did too; click the icon after Version Information to copy to clipboard.

Click Tools > Options > LibreOffice Writer > View and make sure that the box Show outline-folding buttons is ticked. I think you have ticked only for Writer/Web and not for Writer as I installed 7.5.4.2 and it works fine.

I found the problem, it is that these options disappear if the Include sub levels boxes are ticked, which are below the Show outline-folding buttons boxes.

Sorry, cannot edit my post above

I have Show outline-folding buttons ticked for both Writer/Web and Writer.
