Apparently there was an answer at LibreOffice - Ubuntu - 12.04 LTS was working but now will not load, starts recovery, but does not complete but it was removed by qubit. Thanks for making my re-request necessary!
I work in Libre Office in both Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7. In both, Writer keeps trying to recover doc’s that in some cases don’t even exist anymore. It makes me go thru the whole bloody process before I can open a new text doc or existing one. This is REALLY FRUSTRATING. On two separate computers, so… COME ON!! Please tell me how to make it STOP!!!
The easiest way to make it stop is to cancel the recovery just once.
You don’t mention whether you are using LO from the Ubuntu repositories or as downloaded from the website. This answer likely describes what is happening (crash on exit). There are instructions here for performing a backtrace under Linux and a bit further up on the same page for Windows. A backtrace log will tell us more about what is occurring.
