Calc Strange Page Number Style?

I have some very strange page numbering appearing on only one of my ‘recent documents’

(I haven’t been able to paste a scan I made from Capture Wiz) but it is a grey(ish) sort of transparent image appearing but not 1 2 etc rather Page 2 on column 1 and page 26 on the fourth column…on the sheet.

I certainly don’t recall selecting and arranging anything like this.

BTW, I have looked at a lot of ‘help’ posts and I have found it difficult to identify where is/are the most relevant area(s) to search for Calc page numbering. A lot of references to headers/footers but nothing about the sort of transparent images in the text of pages, like mine.
Certainly NOT a criticism, just an observation.

Are you talking about sheets for which you chose >View>Page Break ?
Generally in spredsheets pages are only created for printing purposes, and the numbers only occur in headers an/or footers then depending on print-related settings. To get a preview concerning the consequences of these settings the mentioned View option was created,.

I haven’t added anything about print range, that I know about. Anyway, I just checked and the view of the pages are the same.
I then selected just sheet 1 of the 4 that are selected in select all, and there is no page break or images of page numbers on sheet 1.
I then selected page 2 and there they are, I clicked and unclicked page break and nothing changed.

Thanks for the advice, Barry

LibO Version? OS?
>Help>Restart in Safe Mode already tried?

What does that mean?? What is LibO??

OS Is Windows 11 PC Is Lenovo IdeaPad 1

Where is restart Safe Mode??

barrym

LibO is short for LibreOffice.
>Help>Restart in Safe Mode is the menu path to the feature in English UI (UserInterface).
The safe mode works without regarding the settings which the user made and which were stored to the user profile. This way the running LibO is not afflicted by a possibly corrupted user profile.
User Profile corruption is sometimes the cause behind very strange effects.
Best also attach an example (.ods) which shows the issue for you.
Use the Icon with an upward arrow on top of the editing window of your respnose.

I can see that Page Break is enabled (menu View). You can switch between Normal and Page Break.

There are 76 empty rows (1:76), that can be deleted.
There seems to be wrong data in cells DU145:DU176.
There are cell borders in almos all column IV (the last in older documents), and column IW. You could select columns IV and IW and clear direct formatting (in menu Format, or Ctrl+M)

Once these problems are solved, maybe you must delete your files that they don’t remain in the public view.

Using LibreOffice you should always store your documents in OpenDocumentFormat (odf), in case of spreadsheets .ods and always edit your documents openede from that format.
Only if unavoidable for special purposes you may export the result then to an alien format.

Also: Your post above isn’t a “Suggested Solution”. Use the “Comment” tool in such cases or edit a previous suitable post of yours.

Looking into the files you attached with LibO V 25.2.0 I couldn’t find something obviously strange - except your formatting or the usage of some rows/coluimns/cells.
