Copy and paste in Mac os Monterey

Paste only presents an outline of an item I wish to paste. A message said I needed Oracle. I installed oracle. No improvement.

That isn’t very helpful, unfortunately.

The only reason I know where LibreOffice might require Oracle anything is if you have activated a Java function call somehow within LibreOffice and you don’t have a JDK installed.

What were you pasting, and from where?
Which part of LO were you using at the time?
What is the version number of LibreOffice you were using?
Do you have a JDK installed?
Do you have an extension installed that requires Java, e. g. Language Tool?

I was trying to paste a .jpeg from Desktop to a .odt and to Mail like this. The version is 24.2.1.2 (X86_64) After several Restarts I can now paste!

The copy/paste DnD functions/methods in LibreOffice aren’t necessarily fully compatible with those of macOS - what you are experiencing could be another manifestation of that.

I did not write; “After several Restarts I can now paste!” I can not paste. Open Office does work though. The solution offered does not compute. I have two identical Mac Mini computers. One does DnD the other does not.
I uninstalled LO using “Delete Apps”. Then reinstalled LO. Now DnD works. LO had a flaw.
