IMO it is a bad idea to work continually on docx-documents; always use odt-documents and only finally export to docx format.
For LO 24.8.2.1 it was simple to repair the docx file. Probably you are working on an older version?

Question: Are any parts missing in your repaired document?
Cheers

My test on LO 7.6.7.2: File could not be opened - conclusion: Install latest version.

  • Problem: Lock-file remained after repairing in folder. Potentially generating a new problem…?

Advice: Have (regular) backups.

Thank you for your effort. Some extra text has been recovered. I may have deleted some text whilst trying to resave the original corrupt file. Would you be so kind as try to
the attached files? I will be sure to work in .odt form in the future.

I superficially checked the content.xml of the odt-file (I could not extract the docx file). There are lots of style duplicates with little differences… This seems (to me) to be a result of tracked changes. What it probably makes worse is the conversion to and from (again and again) docx to LibreOffice file format.
So I only can give back your request for examining the file(s):

  • If you work on Windows rename the file from .ods to .zip extension, then decompress with an archiver program (e. g. 7-zip) and open the content.xml with an editor (recommended: notepad++). Then check the flood of text or tag snippets yourself.

Godspeed!

Dear mikekaganski,

all of my changes were recovered.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!

From now on, its .ODT ALL THE WAY!
