I open this DOCX file with LibreOffice but then the size of math formula is all messy. How to fix this? Thank you.

I got this file as docx, so it is not me who make the paper. The problem is the equation size are not proportional when opened with LO.

I have try to double click some equation, and without any further edits the equation become proportional as desired. But then I save, closed, some are saved but some are back into its stretched size.

Is it possible to do that automatically for all equation? Also, how to change all into other font for all?

I open this DOCX file

You seem to forget to attach / link to “this” DOCX.

I have attach the file. Thanks for the reminder.

Just a hint: the math description language is not the same in Word and LO. It may thus be a compatibility issue which may be aggravated if you overspecify the formula and perturb the conversion process.

Overspecifying the formula is not inevitable if you’re writing a paper on math. So, are there any more tips to ensure that the conversion process is not perturbed? Please give if any, since I don’t feel that I have disturbed the conversion process.

It seems that Word needs to convert these equations too, see Editing equations created using Microsoft Equation Editor - Microsoft Support

My version of MS Office 2010 can no longer edit these equations as it automatically updated when opening the document to remove Equation Editor 3 from the installation without adding the replacement.

Save as .odt, if needed to share then Save a Copy as .docx

The main problem is: the document is saved as DOCX. Whatever patch you could apply on your formulas to make them more LO-compliant will not survive a save-open cycle because it will be translated back to M$-math language.

I added a revised formula with an increased size integration operator in LO-standard Math language but the formula was not saved in DOCX.

In addition, the document is not structured at all, even according to M$ Word standards. The document should be reworked first. As long as it is not correctly formatted as a DOCX, it won’t be handled easily in Writer.

If the shown formulas are mathematically correct, and only displayed in an inconvenient / wrong size, it’s simple:
Store the document as a .odt file and reload it.
This should replace the bad “preview images” with images showing the formula objects created with LibO using standard settings. The effect may even survive a next storing as .docx and reloading it with LibO.
If there are formula objects which not are correctly re-rendered in the .odt version tell me. I may the be able to provide a macro forcing the re-rendering.
(I cant help with issues only occurring in .docx. I never use this bad format myself.)
