LibreOffice Writer: invisible text in a shape

OS: Arch Linux KDE
LibreOffice 25.2.2.2

In LibreOffice Writer I made a circle with a radius.
If I write inside the circle e.g. r the text is invisible.
How to visible?

Here is three tips in one sample file:

  • The shapes can contain some text contents. The text of my comments in the circles was made by that feature.
  • You can use the Transparency property for the shapes.
  • You can use the “Wrap: Through”, and the “Background color: None” properties for the shape - when the color of the page and the color of the shape are same.

I recommend to use Draw to create drawings, the tools are more accessible. It can be done in Writer but there drawbacks.

The simplest way with your drawing is to double-click the radius line and enter text. The drawback is that you don’t have much control over positioning.

You could instead click Insert > Text Box and place the text box above the line.
The text box might get anchored to a different paragraph, a subsequent change in paragraph style could move the text box away from the desired position.
Shift select both shapes and click Format > Group shapes > Group. But the circle could also get shifted so select all three and click Format > Group shapes > Group.
You will notice that the paragraph marks and the text under the circle are moved to the right but the circle can be moved without the elements moving relative to each other.
