LO 'prints' all sheets blank

Approx one month ago, LO suddenly stoped working with my printer (HP envy 6020e). Of course I choose the printer to do the job

It sounds as if it is printing, but the output is blank.
I can print everything else: mails, pictures, pdf’s.

I have uninstalled version 24.8.2.1 and replaced with 25.2.03 - it didn’t help.
The only way, I can print a document is, if I convert it to a pdf file.
Do you have a solution?

Gitte - an older lady from Denmark

Can you see the preview in the print window?

Yes - I can see the preview

Test in Safe Mode.
If that don’t work, share a screenshot of the print dialog.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn’t work :frowning:

Are there other printers listed in the Printer field? Can you print from them?

.
What operating system and version are you using?

.
If Windows, run HP Scan & Print tool, see Official HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows | Free Download hppsdr.exe

.
Can you create a short document in Writer that won’t print and upload it here. The contents of this comment would be sufficient.
Cheers, Al

No - I don’t have other printers.

I’m running windows 11, version 24H2 - updated to this version later than when LO stopped working according to printing documents.

HP Scan & Print didn’t find anything.

This one I cannot print:
biksemad i airfryer.odt (20.5 KB)

When I convert it to a pdf-file - I can print it:
biksemad i airfryer.pdf (19.7 KB)

It’s so strange.
Maybe there is a kind of bug in LO…

You document prints OK on my HP 9010 so we can assume it is not a document issue.

.
There are other printers installed by Windows on your computer unless you have removed them. Is there a different HP printer showing in the printer list? Possibly more similar to the name of my HP and with (HPxxxxxx)? Try selecting that. If it works make that the default printer in Windows

A work-around:
menu:File>Export>Export directly as PDF
Open the PDF with your PDF viewer and print that.

… wich Gitte mentioned in her opening post herself.

I have no other printers to choose or to delete.
So I have still not got a possible solution to solve my problem :frowning:

Looking for a solution, I saw these two options; but see no difference if marked or not when printing to PDF (I do not tested with a hardware printer).

Does it work using ‘Microsoft print to PDF’ as a printer?

There was a question on the HP site about this printer printing blank pages when copying. The solution was to update the HP printer firmware and HP Smart App. https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

.
But try the suggestion of printing to Microsoft Print to PDF first. If that works then it could be printer specific

@ mariosv
When I do that, the only option is, that I can save the dokumet as a pdf-file.

And in doing so, is the PDF file OK?

@ mariosv

Oh yes, but it’s been okay all the time.
It’s strange - I can print a pdf-file, an email and so on, but I cannot print anything from LO (writer, calculator-files and so on).

@ EarnestAl
It does not help - I have tried that…

You could go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features right click LibreOffice and Repair it or Uninstall, restart, and install LibreOffice again.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I have uninstalled LO and installed an updated version - it didn’t help.
The same with the printer: uninstalled and installed again.

As I did write in my opening post: It sounds as if it is printing, but the output is blank.
I can print everything else: mails, pictures, pdf’s

I really do not get it!
It happened ‘over night’, and nothing I have tried have worked to fix the problem.

I have been using LO for years - and before LO I used OpenOffice. I have been using HP-printers for decades, and my printer is not new. My computer is 4 or 5 years old. I haven’t changed anything.

It’s a mystery
