Math object in writer doesn't appear when exported in pdf

Hej,

When I export my files to pdf the math objects don’t appear, is this normal ?

Edit: I’m on LibreOffice 24.8.4.2 and Windows 10.
No files work, I can create a new one with a signle formula and it won’t export to PDF nor print to PDF with the formula. Villeroy linked an odt, if I try with this one it doesn’t work either.

How do you expect to get an answer? You didn’t even mention OS name, LO version and save format. You didn’t describe what’s in your document and how you format it.

Reopen your question: click on below it, then on the “pencil” icon to enter edit mode. In any case, don’t use “Suggest a Solution”. If you really can’t enter edit mode, use a Comment as a fallback.

For best analysis, reduce you document to 2-3 pages, keeping the problematic object, and attach it to the question.

I linked an odt and the resulting pdf.

What about the print preview and ordinary printing?

Well, study my answer then.

Your (@ Niidhogg ).odt also doesn’t show a formula for me. I need to open the object for editing to make it visible.
May it be that your user profile is corrupted? This can be the cause of very strange errors.

Ok. I found the problem, I have my skin to dark mode and therefore my background is black with white text, even tho it prints the text black on white, I prints the formula white on white.

Check the properties set for the OLE objects containing the formulas.

If you see the first formula in the pdf, but not the second one, you will know the solution.
If the caption frame of the second formula also isn’t eported/printed: Also frames know the Print option.
Otherwise I have no clue.

When I export your odt in pdf I do see the first formula but not the second. How did you do that ?

RIght-click the formula and choose “Properties…”.
On the “Options” tab, the “Print” option is checked for the first object but not for the second.

Ok. So on my document all the formula already have the print checked. On the file from Lupp it works but only if I don’t modify the formula, as soon as I modify his formula (even if I just edit without modifying anything) it doesn’t work anymore. Even tho the print is still checked.
