The normal display of the slide along with the note is a very useful feature from my point of view. As I often prepare slides for lectures for my students at the university I find the ability to easily edit the slide and the post-note to be crucial, plus it is good to know which slide contains the post-note and which does not when browsing through the presentation.
To pick up on an old discussion from Impress Normal and Notes in same view?, today my 4K screen is definitely big enough to display both pieces of information at the same time. In addition, the competing MS PowerPoint tool has had this functionality for years and they solved the screen space problem very easily with a slide bar that the user can use to arbitrarily divide the display space allocated to a slide or note.
