Specify symbol/text substitution (writer), specifically automatically changing 1/2 to ½, 1/4 to ¼ etc.

Just as per title; I want LO to automatically change fractions such as 1/4, 1/8 etc. into small font, like so: ¼, ⅛

Couldn’t find such an option under Libreoffice Preferences…

I recall changing “th” to appear as superscript some time ago but can’t remember how to do it!

EDIT: @ Petermau here is the difference between subscript, superscript and what I am trying to achieve:

Cheers.

I found some interesting hints there: Fractions in writer

Search on google or other search machine:

“site:https://ask.libreoffice.org/c/english/5 fraction writer”

You’d better repost it as an answer.

Depends on the font you are using.
And what specific fractions you want to make.
You may be able to use AutoCorrect if the glyphs are already there in the font.
Or use OpenType frac feature if the font has that available.
So what font? And which fractions?

Superscript/subscript gives poor results and should be a last resort.

I use primarily Copperplate and American Typewriter fonts, so having these convert into fractions would be great.
As for fractions, I would like as many as possible, preferably all of them, to be automatically transformed, but particularly ½, ⅓, ¼, 1/6, ⅛, 1/16, 1/32.

I can’t seem to figure out how to configure/set autocorrect settings…

What is OpenType frac and how do I use it?

ctrl shift + p turns the font into superscript so that you can insert any superscript text or numbers. Same combination turns of the superscript. ctrl shift + b gives subscript equivalent.

View > Toolbars > Formatting includes icons to select / deselect these options

Thanks for info.
After trying those shortcuts it seems that super/subscript isn’t actually what I’m after…
What I really want is for the text to be smaller but remain centered- just as it does in my question description.
I have uploaded an example of the difference between superscript and what I’m trying to achieve.
