Libre Ofice 3.6.4 (3.6.3 before), OS X 10.6.8 - there is no “Options” menu item in “Tools” (german version - keine “Optionen” unter “Extras”). What can I do?
Indeed LibreOffice follows Mac OSX standards in this regards, and the preferences are in the global application menu-entry (and also uses the Mac-standard shortcut of <command>+, for that). While this is reflected in LibreOffice’s help, most of the users use either Windows or linux, so on mailinglists and most other resources you’ll find Tools | Options, and only rarely the special case for Mac is mentioned. Similar for the keycombos - where it is <ctrl>+<key> on Windows or Linux, it is <command>+<key> on Mac.
If you did stumble over that entry in “official” documentation, then please file it as a bug/mention it on the appropriate mailinglists, so that an appropriate note can be added.
Good point – people often don’t post what OS they’re using when they ask questions on the Ask site, so we might be pointing them in the wrong place unintentionally. Do we have enough OSX users on this site so we can pair them up with the people running OSX?
What about "LibreOffice → Preferences"?
I am looking for a possibility to change the saving paths for document backup. There is no option in “LibreOffice → Preferences”. I would like LO to automatically save a copy of my document into a folder on my Dropbox-drive o similar.
Ok, I found the paths-section… LibreOffice → Preferences → LibreOffice → Paths (and not under “Save” as expected…).
