I’m having this same problem with this file:
CBS 11DEC23 AEOC Exam Paper WIP v4 anna-edit2.docx (45.5 KB)
Could you help, please? And, is it explained somewhere what it is you do to save those files?
Best regards
Carsten

I produced a fixed version myself. I unzipped the docx file and “recovered” the XML by doing xmllint --recover word/document.xml
. So that’s a possible way to go.

Reception and identification procedure (1) Grantler.docx (61.1 KB)
.
Changing formats of complex files (docx to odt and vice versa or editing docx files on LibreOffice) often is hazardous.

EDIT
The restored file may be incomplete in its contents. Check the file size: Your original file is 68.7 kB, the restored file is 61.1 kB.
Hi all - Arg. Same problem here!
Would it be possible for someone to perform their wizardry to recover my file below?
Problem: File format error found at
SAXParseException: '[word/document.xml line 2]: Opening and ending tag mismatch: rPr line 2 and ins
', Stream ‘word/document.xml’, Line 2, Column 788460(row,col).
File still reads as desired size (228KB) but only displays about halfway, up to last document edit.
Is there also an easy solve for this problem a newbie like me can do?
File:
Wade_Nash_60K_IAN.docx (227.2 KB)
Dang - you are QUICK! That is utterly amazing, thank you so, so much!
As it’s a docx file - should I continue working and saving it in LibreOffice as docx, or Save As odt?
Once again, you are an utter lifesaver
Hallo, I have the same problem as many others: corrupted docx file with SAXexception error. I would greatly appreciate if mike or other liboreffice wizards may help me recover the file. I attach it here, nothing secret. Thank you sooo much!
24context Pallotti v2.docx (35.9 KB)
Mike, you’re an angel! May you be blessed.
