How do you set a fixed header height?

I have tried to set a fixed header height by selecting Format->Header and setting the value in the Height box, and deselecting the “use Dynamic Spacing” and “Autofit Height” options, as shown below.

ok I can’t show the screenshot of this because new users can’t put more that one media item in a post.

However, as also shown below these selections have no effect whatsoever, the header grows with the text.

I also attach an example document demonstrating the issue. My LO version is 6.4.7.2

I would love it if someone could explain the correct way to do this. Thanks!

Hi. Below is a screenshot of your document from my LO 7.2.6.2 but it also shows the same in LO 6.2.8.2. The red right-pointing arrow indicates there is more text not visible.

I would try Help > Restart in Safe Mode > Continue in safe mode, open the document and see if the header is fixed in size. If it is then consider resetting your User Profile.
I prefer the manual method of renaming the folder so I can copy back the important folders.

My LO version is 6.4.7.2

It’s very old.

FAQ

I have now update to use the fresh ppa, the version of which is currently 7.5.3.2. The problem seems to be fixed a bit there, but still occasionally if I close the document and reopen it, the header collapses completely even though I haven’t changed anything.

@mikekaganski Thanks for the info, but that FAQ does not address my question in any way.

What worked for me was enabling AutoFit height, saving the document and restarting.

You saw the problem? I assumed from your answer it was Mac related until you updated with your system spec. I tried several different installations and Header was fixed height in all; I never saw the issue. Last test looks correct.

In @PKG file the header remains too high after unticking Autofit height and OK. Without closing the document and restarting, just enabling the Footer fixes the Header. Maybe related to tdf#131132 ?
